RetroVaders 1.34 - coming soon

After receiving a bug report that RetroVaders crashes on Windows 7 (and finding that it also seems to do the same on XP Service Pack 3) I've delved back into the code and fixed a couple of other minor issues.

The new version will be available once Virgin Media sort out write access into my damn FTP site.

Hi Dan,

I just felt like a bit of Space Invaders action, so I came to get retrovaders.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on my Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64.
(seg fault when started from command line)
Is this a 64bit issue?
Is there a workaround?

Thanks for the fun!

Hi Felix,

RetroVaders works fine on my current Ubuntu 10.04 setup (32 bit) so I'm guessing that it is indeed a 64bit problem.

It is supposed to be possible to run 32 bit software on Ubuntu 64 (see the following link for some hints):

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/32bit_and_64bit

This link on the BlitzMax homepage gives some details on setting up a 32bit chroot environment which should allow you to run 32 bit games:

Hopefully this should be enough to get you going (sorry there's not an easier way).
